PH1 Artists

Robert Teed and Paula Jackson at The New School House Gallery in York have been successful in securing funding for a series of artists residencies in and around the city of York. I am delighted to to have been asked to undertake a residency as part of this exciting programme which promises engaged and engaging art from John Newling, Delaine and Damian Le Bas, Stevie Ronnie and myself, Catherine Sutcliffe-Fuller.

PH1 is supported by Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts, City of York Council as part of the York: Be Part Of It Festival, York St John University, University of York and York Museums Trust.
Future residencies include Delaine and Damian Le Bas (Sept-Oct), Stevie Ronnie (Nov-Dec) and myself, Catherine Sutcliffe-Fuller (Jul 14-Jan 15).

The PH1 project

The project will investigate how an open-ended, immersive residency can add value to the artist’s practice, the community in which they are embedded, and the classroom practice of student teachers. Artists of national standing will be embedded in the city in temporary studio structures; each will be joined by selected local artists, creating a nexus of creative activity. A comprehensive programme of community and educational participation will be arranged, and researchers from the University of York’s Cultural Anthropology Department will evaluate the project’s social impact.
